Press release: Carpathian TOURISM CLUSTER ROMANIA, an innovative network of regional and national stakeholders in the Romanian tourism industry, has been launched on 1 November 2010. The new cluster sees his mission in supporting sustainable tourism development and creating additional value for the tourism industry in region of the Carpathian Mountains. Carpathian TOURISM CLUSTER ROMANIA is based on Romania´s national cluster development strategy which is supported by the European Commission.
Carpathian TOURISM CLUSTER ROMANIA has been founded on 1 November 2010 based on the initiative of the Tourism Association APDT Brasov and the Tourism Association Monteoru Renaissance (Buzau district).
Carpathian Tourism Cluster is an independent network of regional and national tourism stakeholders and Romania´s first supra-regional tourism cluster of national interest. Members of the cluster are tourism development associations, NGOs, local and national authorities, tour operators, travel agencies, tourism guides, event agencies, supplier of the tourism industry and service and consulting companies. Carpathian TOURISM CLUSTER ROMANIA is based on Romania´s national cluster development strategy which is supported by the European Commission. The marketing measures will be in line with the national tourism and brand strategy “Romania – Explore the Carpathian garden”.
The main objectives of the cluster are innovation and diversification in order to attract new tourists to the Carpathian region. This shall be reached by the development of modern tourism offers and the improvement of the quality of touristic service according to European standards.
The cluster is integrated in an international tourism network and especially intends to promote the Carpathian Mountains abroad. All cluster projects have a supra-regional character. In the launching phase, the cluster concentrates his activities on the Carpathian and Subcarpathian districts of Brasov, Buzau, Sibiu, Covasna, Arges and Prahova.
